Transforming School Life with Jump Start Jonny
As Head Teacher, I’ve seen numerous fitness resources come and go over the years. However, I can confidently say that Jump Start Jonny is the best investment we’ve ever made for our school.
Each morning, children eagerly ‘jump start’ their day with JSJ’s energetic dances, which not only improve fitness in a fun way, but also lift the children’s mood and set a positive tone for the day. In the afternoons, teachers use the chillout routines to help the children settle after playtime, and on Mondays, we run a weekly JSJ after school club attended by 30 children. JSJ is an integral part of our school life, so much so we even do the dances in our weekly staff meeting!
One of the things we love most about JSJ is the fact every child joins in, and in the 5 years we’ve been members, I’m yet to see a child who doesn’t take part. Even those who usually shy away from sports get involved, and that is truly remarkable. On top of inclusivity, we’ve noticed increased focus during lessons, a lift in mood of both children and staff, and even an improvement in attendance.
Jump Start Jonny has become an integral part of daily life at St. Mary’s. It’s not just our favourite investment, it’s a resource we can’t imagine being without, bringing joy, community spirit, and inclusivity to our school. Thank you, Jump Start Jonny!
